Drains can be subject to all sorts of problems. Blocked drains are the most common issue we deal with, typically via drain rodding or jetting. But they can also experience structural damage, such as minor cracks and unstable joints, caused by invasive tree roots or a poor quality initial installation, for example. Drains Ahead, first choice for drain repairs throughout Surrey and South London – including Bromley, Caterham, Coulsdon, Croydon, Purley and Warlingham – offer quality, yet affordable drain repairs to deal with the problem at hand. We offer 24/7 coverage in these areas, so don’t hesitate to contact us whatever the time of day.
We typically begin our work by launching a CCTV drain survey, which allows us to pin point damage remotely, without the need for excavation. Our team will then show and explain to you the extent of the damage, and recommend an approach for fixing it; transparency is a core part of our company’s philosophy. Once we’ve issued you a quote and you’re happy with us to proceed, we’ll get going – most drain repairs can be begun right there on the spot.
But how do you know that you’re experiencing trouble with your drains in the first place? We’d recommend clients keep an eye out for the following symptoms:
There are three key techniques we use to carry out drain repairs in Bromley, Caterham, Coulsdon, Croydon, Purley and Warlingham. They are:
Patching – We often use patch liners to repair holes in pipes, joint displacements, small cracks and partial collapses to prevent leaks. This technique involves first carrying out a CCTV inspection of the pipe, to get an accurate read on the location of the damage. We then cover the patch liner with a resin, and mount it on an inflatable tube. The completed device is moved to the position of the damage and inflated. This bonds the patch with the pipe, creating a seal. After a set time, the resin will have hardened and the tube can be deflated and removed. This technique is not an efficient way of repairing numerous, separate damaged segments – or indeed an entire run of drain. In these situations, we’d recommend a full re-lining as the proper form of drain repairs.
Lining – In situations where excavation would be impractical due to depth, location or cost, but damage is too extensive or widespread to patch, we are able to line pipes with diameters between 75mm and 1200mm. This process is similar to patching, and sees us install a new, uncompromised lining within your system. The lining is fit snugly via the use of water or air pressure.
Excavation – However, with some situations we cannot avoid the need for excavation. Luckily, our team has the prowess and experience required to minimise the disruption such work will cause, handling it quickly and capably with the use of the appropriate plant machinery and hands-on techniques.
